CATE software
The powerful Computer Aided Test Engineering (CATETM) software is at the heart of the S790 Series2, providing an icon based object-orientated interactive graphical environment operating under Linux. CATE provides a highly efficient and effective set of test program development and diagnostic tools all supported with interactive help to ensure you can always use the full capability of the system.
Software tools are designed to support the use of clusters to simplify test programming by dividing a circuit into clusters. In this way the programming task is simplified by allowing you to concentrate on a defined part of the overall circuit and consequently simulation and diagnostic routines are shortened.

Cluster tests can be combined to produce a comprehensive diagnostic test program that combines all the advantages of the various test techniques; functional, in-circuit, boundary scan, mixed signal, bus emulation. In this way the best no-compromise test methods for your circuit can be combined seamlessly and the ANALYST software ensures test results are collated and analysed correctly to give an accurate fault diagnosis.

The S790 Series2’s unequalled blend of powerful digital electronics and instrumentation capability outperforms rival machines where it matters most. Its high speed ability permits digital circuit testing at an impressive 40 MHz data rate to detect even the most demanding circuit defects.
Up to 1792 pins are available, each with individually-programmable voltage levels. These universal test channels also provide analog capability for in-circuit tests, and functional testing up to 5MHz. A separate, high-performance 30MHz analog switching matrix with up to 512 channels is also available.
